Construction begins on the new $159 million ottawa congress centre

The new $159 million Ottawa Congress and Convention Centre begins construction in late october 2008 and will be completed by April 2011. The new eco friendly state of the art modern facility will be a world class building with panoramic views of The Parliament buildings, the UNESCO world heritage site and downtown ottawa. The new building is a three-storey 200,000 square foot facility. The redevelopment of the congress centre will increase meeting and convention space hosting world class events. Current events, meetings, trade shows and conventions will be accomodated by local ottawa hotels and our guide and directory of ottawa meeting and conference rooms will hopefully help fill the void until the new facility is open for business.
